About Kenn Schroder
A Long Island web designer.
Nice to meet you.
Whenever you see "I" on this site, well that's me, Kenn Schroder. I'm the owner of K3NN Web Development. It's a pleasure to meet you.
I've been programming and designing since I was a kid.
Growing up on Long Island , I spent hours on the Commodore 64 programming and playing computer games. Using a computer to create is a passion of mine. I was the computer geek kid down the block. Those early years on the computer have given me a strong basis for all the web development I do today.
My education was centered on math, arts and computers.
In high school, I received various awards, honors and college credits for studies in Math and Computers. I graduated SUNY Binghamton University with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and received the Award for Excellence in Mathematics. In both high school and college, my studies always included art courses such as drawing, painting, and computer graphics. My studies in math, computers and art have naturally come together to help me grow K3NN Web Development.
My Actuary profession enhanced my skills in statistics, programming, and mathematics.
I spent 7 years as an actuary for TIAA-CREF. An actuary is a number cruncher for financial companies, mostly insurance companies. At TIAA, I wrote programs to help retirement services do their jobs more effectively, created reserve reports to help upper level management decision making, and developed a life insurance illustration system to help consultants plan financial programs for clients.
My actuarial skills help solve many technical and programming problems related to building web sites. In addition, the analytical skills help me analyze web site statistics that can be used to make sites more effective.
Web site marketing, especially on search engines, has become my main focus.
With my background, I was able to grasp the design and technical aspects of web development fairly quickly. It soon became apparent that for a web site to be effective, it needed marketing smarts. I find this aspect of making a web site effective to be fascinating. I have especially become focused on search engine marketing.
I started K3NN Web Development in 2001 to turn my passions into a business.
The secret to business success and personal happiness is to do what you love. If you can combine your passions into a business, you will be successful. So that is where K3NN Web Development comes in. K3NN helps me pursue my passions and turn that energy into effective web site solutions to help business achieve more success.
